Bio:
Born in Munich and moving to Canada just before high school, Anke Summerhill considers herself a German/Canadian native, at home in Utah. She is a writer and singer of original & contemporary songs, which weave strong, melodic vocals and poetic imagery, to create a rich blend of Americana music. Having chosen Utah as her home for many years, Summerhill's affection for Utah's grand landscapes is reflected in her writing. Her song "Stars at Noon," captures perfectly the beauty and character of desert wilderness. This and several other songs, have been included in various CD collections of songs and benefit projects. Of her debut CD release, "The Roots Run Deep", Independent Songwriter Web-Magazine writes:"The emotional bond is established with the audience from the very first note. It's personal, yet universal. You may cry, you may find yourself becoming philosophical, but you will feel something totally unique from any other album you've ever heard." Anke's diverse background and powerful gift of observation have seasoned her songwriting and performances with that which makes us compassionate. To date, Summerhill has released two full length CD recordings of her original music.
